Chaqar has extensive experience developing addins for Alphacam to automate a variety of tasks. We look at a particular product and try to automate the whole process from getting the job details from ERP systems, inputting customer-supplied CAD, creating the needed geometries, doing the machining, and outputting NC code for the machine. Although user interaction is often needed at various points, the entire process can be made tremendously faster. For one part that needed approximately an hour to program manually, we were able to automate it and cut the time down to literally 10 seconds. In another example, a complete-made-to-order product was reduced from an average job time of 6-8 hours to 20 minutes.
